This was a really fascinating look at women’s work, cloth, the development of society and the role women played.
I absolutely loved it.
I listened to the audiobook and was completely gripped throughout. At no point did it even remotely come close to feeling like dry non-fiction. Barber really tells the story of history so that it is experienced as a fascinating fast moving, enlightening story.

I want to go listen to bit of it again simply because it was so interesting. And I would really quite like to own a hard copy so I could drop into the book every now and then.

Really well worth reading or listening to
